The Challenge

In an industry with strong competitive pressure and increasing scarcity of resources, Vaude had to grow without increasing its ecological footprint.

Our Solution

Vaude was able to increase its company turnover by 32% between 2019 and 2023 – from around € 101 million to over € 133 million – while CO2 emissions fell by 30% in the same period.

Implementation

Vaude has fully integrated sustainability into its corporate strategy, with the management steering it annually in a combined top-down and bottom-up process and an interdisciplinary sustainability team coordinating all measures. The company pursues science-based climate targets (SBTi), such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030 and Net Zero by 2040, and implements these through concrete projects such as switching to renewable energy, using recycled materials and establishing circular business models. Transparency through external audits (e.g. EMAS, Fair Wear), annual sustainability reports and the active involvement of employees ensure consistent implementation and sustainable success.

Results

Sales increase: +32% (2019-2023)
Reduction in CO2 emissions: -30% (2019-2023)
Products with at least 50% recycled content: 90% (2025)
